At the Physiotherapy Department of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, we are dedicated to delivering patient-centred, holistic care that restores physical function, relieves pain, and enhances quality of life. Our mission is to help every patient regain physical function, optimise mobility, and return safely and confidently to daily life and community activities.

In the acute hospital setting, our team focuses on early and proactive intervention to prevent complications and promote recovery. We provide physiotherapy services across the intensive care units and general wards. Our care includes early mobilisation to prevent functional decline, chest physiotherapy to reduce pneumonia risk, specialised post-operative and stroke rehabilitation, and much more. We also offer individualised education for patients and caregivers on home-based exercises, pain management, and fall prevention, empowering them to continue their progress after discharge.

We take pride in our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Over the years, we have built strong partnerships with various specialties. These collaborations ensure that patients receive coordinated, timely, and comprehensive care, tailored to their unique needs and conditions.

Beyond the hospital, we are passionate about promoting health and well-being in the community. Our public health education and outreach programmes encourage people of all ages to stay active and healthy. To promote the benefits of exercise, we run a Nordic Walk self-help group for adults with chronic illnesses and sports classes for young people with psychiatric conditions, helping participants build lasting exercise habits and enjoy improved physical and mental health.

At Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, our physiotherapists are committed to evidence-based, compassionate care. We continue to strive for excellence in rehabilitation, helping our patients move better, live stronger, and stay healthier every day
