Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) is a major acute hospital serving the eastern district of Hong Kong Island, which commenced provision of services on 15 October 1993. PYNEH is one of the seven hospitals in the Hong Kong East Cluster (HKEC) of the Hospital Authority. Other hospitals and institutions in HKEC include Ruttonjee Hospital and Tang Shiu Kin Hospital, Tung Wah Eastern Hospital, Wong Chuk Hang Hospital, Cheshire Home (Chung Hom Kok) and St. John Hospital.

PYNEH maintains close links with its predecessor, the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and her parent organization, the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Charity Foundation (AHNCF), which continues to support PYNEH’s Chaplaincy Service and Community and Patient Resource Centre, as well as set-up of new services and training facilities over the years.

At the base of the hospital logo is the motto of the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (Nethersole Hospital)  “矜憫為懷”, which means“Keeping Love, Care and Empathy”in our hearts. From this cultural heritage, grows a caring organization as represented by the heart. The three elements in the logo represent the building blocks of our hospital, i.e. the Hospital Authority, Nethersole Hospital and the Eastern District. The heart consists of two elements, Nethersole in grey and Hospital Authority in red. With one heart, our integrated service team renders holistic care and support to the total patient, as represented by the perfect circle at the top of the Logo. The solid red colour of the circle in this prominent position emphasizes the focus of all our activities: “Putting Patients First”.
